Conclusion

Many Cuban-Americans have been caught in the tidal wave of history, leading painful and precarious lives. While the Cuban revolution brought many gains for the Cuban population, it also dealt harshly with those who resisted its goals. These expatriates deserve our compassion and support. Yet the response of some of these expatriates, to move to the far right of the political spectrum, to support dehumanizing and harmful policies on the part of the US, is unjustified despite our compassion for their past.

Poster art, as in the above examples, has been used to inspire, mythologize, propagandize, and subvert.
