The Swift Ranch 1883A year before Amelia’s father, Lemuel Swena, died, he purchased a section of land which he divided into three 240 acre
parcels for his daughters Amelia and Eliza, and his son, Orlando. Amelia’s property became the Swift Ranch two years
later when Amelia married William. The acreage included the Southwest quarter (S.W.¼) and the South half (S.½)
of the Northwest quarter (N.W.¼) of Section Six (6) Township Twenty-three (23) N. R. One (1) E. M. D. M..
